<p><strong>Do you want to lose weight?&nbsp; </strong></p>
<p>Step aerobics fitness classes are a great way to get in shape and shed any extra pounds.&nbsp; Most classes centre on an aerobics step, from which almost all of the class exercises are based. Although there are many components related to fitness, there are a few that stand out as the most important. Here you will find the five basic components of physical fitness.</p>
<p><strong>What Is Fitness?</strong></p>
<p>Simply stated, fitness is the ability to perform physical activity. However, having adequate energy to go through your day and to be in a state of overall health is also a part of being fit. Both physical exercise and diet are important components of fitness. There are many reasons to get and stay fit. Let&#8217;s look a the most important ones.</p>
<p><strong>Increased Energy</strong></p>
<p>Having energy for daily activities is vital to happiness. Have you ever been at work and felt that you could fall asleep at any moment if you just closed your eyes? Or, perhaps your job is to take care of small children. Do you frequently feel as if you are just going through the motions and you are not able to enjoy the pleasant moments because you are just too tired? Building up your energy reserves is a great way to improve your overall state of well-being and happiness. With the proper amount of energy, you will have more ability to share yourself with others, be more productive at work and have more time for your hobbies and leisure time activities.</p>
<p><strong>Lowered Risk Of Illness and Disease</strong></p>
<p>When you are fit, your body is in a positive or even an ideal state. If you are not fit, you put your body at risk. The diseases most frequently associated with lack of fitness are: coronary heart disease, cancer, type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. To combat your sleep issues, try going to bed an hour earlier than usual and turning off the tv at least an hour before you turn in. Also, don&#8217;t exercise right before going to sleep. Another great way to enhance your ability to get a good night&#8217;s sleep is to keep the same schedule, even on weekends. Your body will adapt to the schedule and you will begin to get sleepy when your bedtime is near.</p>

<p>We all have stress, but some people are better at dealing with it than others. It is important to control your response to stress because it is a known risk factor for weight gain. A good way to help you de-stress is by using meditation, yoga and exercise.</p>

<p>Being fit is more than just a health issue. When you look good, you feel good. If you are in shape, you will certainly carry yourself in a more confident way. <p>Although I&#8217;ve worked in fitness centers for over 30 years, in reality, you don&#8217;t have to spend a lot of money on expensive health club or fitness center memberships, or the latest fitness center memberships, or the latest fitness equipment, to increase your level of physical fitness.</p>
<p>On the other hand, many people find it difficult to concentrate; say at home, when there are many other distractions. Also, people sometimes find that making a financial commitment increases their chances of following thru long-term.</p>
<p>Fitness centers are designed, built, and equipped to appeal to a broad range of individuals. After all, member ship sales pay the bills.</p>
<p>However, not all centers operate in the same manner. Many require contracts that are legally binding, and require monthly payments, for the length of the contract. There&#8217;s nothing inherently wrong with that scenario, in fact it&#8217;s very common. The point is, if you&#8217;re going to sign on the dotted line, it&#8217;s important, that the health club you&#8217;ve chosen is right for you.</p>
<p>Location <br />People make all kinds of excuses not to work out, with proximity to home or work very high on the list. Research has shown that most people won&#8217;t travel more than eight miles or eight minutes to work out. Since an exercise an exercise program requires consistency, a convenient location is a must.</p>
<p>Hours of Operation <br />If you prefer to exercise at a particular time of day, remember to look closely at the day and hours of operation. Also, visit the club prior to joining at the time of day you&#8217;re most likely to attend. Is it crowded then?</p>
<p>Equipment and Amenities <br />With your personal fitness goals in mind, shop around and compare equipment, locker rooms, classes, etc. How about a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam or sauna? Are these in good working order? Have you any interests there? <br />There should be a wide array of both cardiovascular and strength equipment, as you&#8217;ll want to have the opportunity to change your routine periodically, and use different pieces of equipment. That will help keep you interested and motivated.</p>
<p>Cost <br />Shopping around allows you to compare what you&#8217;re getting, to what you&#8217;re paying. Newer clubs with newer equipment, a wide variety of amenities, will probably cost more per month, but you never know, so look around. I like clubs that charge an all-inclusive monthly fee, that allows you use of the entire facility. Usually the only additional charge would be for the personal training or massages, which is true everywhere.</p>
<p>Personnel <br />How were you treated as you looked around? Did the employees seem attentive to members, helpful and friendly? If you want to learn a new machine or piece of equipment, is someone available to demonstrate? You shouldn&#8217;t feel uncomfortable asking for assistance in your own club.</p>
<p>While we&#8217;re on the topic of fitness center&#8217;s employees, pay special attention to the exercise specialists education, experience, and professional certification. Knowing why to do a particular exercise is just as important as how to perform it. Also, are they C.P.R. certified, and is an Automatic Defibrillator available, in case of emergency?</p>
<p>Membership <br />Certain fitness centers attract a specific kind of member. Bodybuilders are attracted by lots of free weights, as their main purpose in building large muscles. On the other hand, senior citizens are much more comfortable with selectorized machines, and a good choice of cardiovascular equipment. We gawk, stare at them as we stand in line at the grocery store and as we stare blankly at the TV screen. There seems to be no way we can escape them. Every time we look, our bellies feel soft, our shoulders slouch more, and we grow increasingly disappointed, convinced that fitness is something unreachable.</p>
<p>What a mess.</p>
<p>Every year, less and less people exercise, as the image of the ultimate fit body, has become more unattainable. We&#8217;ve become pudgier because no matter how we try to recharge our fitness pursuits, we almost always fall off the bandwagon. The latest report on physical activity and health states that only roughly 20 percent of Americans exercise consistently at least four times a week. Yet, we are bombarded with more than 8 thousand health and fitness messages all year round. Why don&#8217;t we know what&#8217;s good for us? It&#8217;s because we haven&#8217;t tapped into our fitness instincts.</p>
<p>Yes, there is a much better way. And yes, you will discover how to liberate yourself from the one-size-fits-all exercise programs and the need for high-priced clubs. The whole problem with fitness, the real reason why you don&#8217;t exercise as much as you want to &#8211; centers on being out of touch with your body. A lot of us force ourselves through boring routines that make us feel more like automatons.</p>

<p>Take this new finding about the effectiveness of fitness instinct: A 75-year-old orchestra conductor doing nothing more than waving his arms in front of the musicians can experience a much greater surge of endorphins than a tightly wound, overworked, and overstressed corporate executive pounding on his workout and throwing perspiration like a lawn sprinkler. How is this possible? Enjoyment &#8211;the mind and body factor. Researchers in the new field of psychoneuroimmunology (how our thoughts affects our bodies) always suspected that this was powerful, but they are just now beginning to realize up to what extent.</p>

Holistic fitness has the missing links that allow practically everyone &#8211; from exercise dropouts to neophytes &#8211; to finally jump on the endorphin bandwagon. With holistic fitness, you will bypass all of the old excuses for not exercising. When movement is natural and intrinsically driven, mind, body, and spirit come into harmony. The enjoying part has been put on hold and stress is as bad as ever. How can we help you get to that enjoying part of life a bit faster?
