May 11th, 2008 · No Comments

Herbal Colon Cleansing is not a myth anymore. It’s working and has been proven so. Let me explain some benefits to using Herbal Colon Cleansing.

The body is like a fine tuned machine. A machine as we all know must go through a period of complete readjustment, cleaning, realigning, refurbishing etc. and so should our body. In our daily activities, we tend to overlook our own bodies. One of the most important parts of our bodies being the bowels is rarely thought of at all. Most of us will only think about it if we become constipated or having a belly cram or something like that. The bowels and last but not least maintaining them is so important that it should really be on the top of our list for things to care about. Having a bowel that is not maintained means that we carry a lot of lee that can make us more ineffective than we are supposed to be. Here is an example of what I mean.

My Diet Isn’t Working..

April 8th, 2008 · No Comments

It’s not for sure but I think my diet isn’t working. A single mother all stressed out and trying hard to loose wight but having problems seeing any results. Dieting can be hard for the best of them and trying hard might not be enough. It is not just the trying part that catches your attention here but “How” are you trying? Dieting doesn’t just mean to cut down on food and sweets etc. Dieting is a change of Lifestyle. It’s a change of attitude. Things that you have been doing all your life and take for granted might just be the ones that you have to give up if you want to succeed. Having that nice latte in the morning might not be good for you. The very first thing to do before starting on a diet is to consult your doctor and make sure it’s ok to go on a diet. Make it into regular visits as long as you are dieting. It’s better this way so you are sure that you are not doing any harm to your self.

Please do this before starting -  Think about what is written above and visit your doctor.

Cholesterol And Blood Pressure Support!

December 10th, 2007 · No Comments

Blood pressure (strictly speaking: vascular pressure) refers to the force exerted by circulating blood on the walls of blood vessels, and constitutes one of the principal vital signs. The pressure of the circulating blood decreases as blood moves through arteries, arterioles, capillaries, and veins; the term blood pressure generally refers to arterial pressure, i.e., the pressure in the larger arteries, arteries being the blood vessels which take blood away from the heart. Arterial pressure is most commonly measured via a sphygmomanometer, which uses the height of a column of mercury to reflect the circulating pressure (see Non-invasive measurement). Although many modern vascular pressure devices no longer use mercury, vascular pressure values are still universally reported in millimetres of mercury (mmHg).

The systolic arterial pressure is defined as the peak pressure in the arteries, which occurs near the beginning of the cardiac cycle; the diastolic arterial pressure is the lowest pressure (at the resting phase of the cardiac cycle). The average pressure throughout the cardiac cycle is reported as mean arterial pressure; the pulse pressure reflects the difference between the maximum and minimum pressures measured.

Typical values for a resting, healthy adult human are approximately 120 mmHg (16 kPa) systolic and 80 mmHg (11 kPa) diastolic (written as 120/80 mmHg, and spoken as “one twenty over eighty”) with large individual variations. These measures of arterial pressure are not static, but undergo natural variations from one heartbeat to another and throughout the day (in a circadian rhythm); they also change in response to stress, nutritional factors, drugs, or disease. Hypertension refers to arterial pressure being abnormally high, as opposed to hypotension, when it is abnormally low. Along with body temperature, blood pressure measurements are the most commonly measured physiological parameters.

Natural Treatments For Irritable Bowel Syndrome

December 7th, 2007 · No Comments

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a chronic disorder characterized by  recurrent abdominal pain and intermittent diarrhea, which often alternates with  constipation. IBS most commonly affects people between the ages of 20 and 30 and  is twice as common in women as in men. IBS is known by a variety of other terms:  spastic colon, spastic colitis, mucous colitis, nervous diarrhea, nervous colon  and nervous or functional bowel.

Causes and natural treatments of irritable bowel syndromeIrritable Bowel syndrome is a gastrointestinal motility disorder for which  there is no organic or structural cause. Since the symptoms of IBS can mimic  other disorders such as hypothyroidism, IBS is diagnosed when all other local  and systemic conditions have been ruled out.

Characteristic symptoms of  IBS include recurrent abdominal pain, abdominal pain relieved by defecation,  disordered bowel habit, including constipation, diarrhea, or an alternation  between the two, and abdominal distension and bloating.

IBS is also  associated with non-gastrointestinal conditions such as headache, low back pain,  arthritis, non-cardiac chest pain, difficult urination and  fibromyalgia.

More About Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

November 26th, 2007 · No Comments

Part 2) * What causes ulcerative colitis? Ulcerative colitis is a disease that causes inflammation and sores, called ulcers, in the lining of the large intestine. The inflammation usually occurs in the rectum and lower part of the colon, but it may affect the entire colon. Ulcerative colitis rarely affects the small intestine except for the end section, called the terminal ileum. Ulcerative colitis may also be called colitis or proctitis. Illustration of the intestines. The inflammation makes the colon empty frequently, causing diarrhea. Ulcers form in places where the inflammation has killed the cells lining the colon; the ulcers bleed and produce pus. Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), the general name for diseases that cause inflammation in the small intestine and colon. Ulcerative colitis can be difficult to diagnose because its symptoms are similar to other intestinal disorders and to another type of IBD called Crohn’s disease. Crohn’s disease differs from ulcerative colitis because it causes inflammation deeper within the intestinal wall. Also, Crohn’s disease usually occurs in the small intestine, although it can also occur in the mouth, esophagus, stomach, duodenum, large intestine, appendix, and anus. Ulcerative colitis may occur in people of any age, but most often it starts between ages 15 and 30, or less frequently between ages 50 and 70. Children and adolescents sometimes develop the disease. Ulcerative colitis affects men and women equally and appears to run in some families. What causes ulcerative colitis? Theories about what causes ulcerative colitis abound, but none have been proven. The most popular theory is that the body’s immune system reacts to a virus or a bacterium by causing ongoing inflammation in the intestinal wall. People with ulcerative colitis have abnormalities of the immune system, but doctors do not know whether these abnormalities are a cause or a result of the disease. Ulcerative colitis is not caused by emotional distress or sensitivity to certain foods or food products, but these factors may trigger symptoms in some people. Part 3 to come…….

Ulcerative Colitis (UC)

November 26th, 2007 · No Comments

Part 1) The type of disease that has you wondering about what you eat. The Doctors say no, no relations at all, however they cannot say what is the cause of this disease. It seems to be genetic but the proof is not conclusive. When I first noticed this disease I thought it was hemorrhoids and did not pay too much attention. The bleeding was minor at first, so nothing to worry about. Oh boy, was I ever wrong. The bleeding just didn’t want to stop; it just got worse and worse. I stopped working and stayed at home to rest and see if that helped but to no avail the bleeding got worse even. It was now at the point of only blood coming from my anus. I finally went to the Hospital Emergency and was taken under observation immediately. The first thing they checked out was my stomach by inserting a tube through my throat directly into the stomach. The stomach proved to be just fine. The Doctor then proceeded to verify my anus for hemorrhoids and found that also to be ok. The next step was to check out the intestines and for that they gave me a liquid to drink so that I would empty out the digestive path. By giving me this drink (barium mixture) the drop in body fluid became too rapid and I went into some kind of epileptic shock. The Nursing staff had a ruff time with understanding what this was and I was put into a Isolation chamber for contagious deceases. They started giving me a lot of Apple juice to replenish my liquid. In my state of shock I was looking like a person that had gone into epileptic shock and my lips and fingernails turned blue. My time in isolation was not over by a long shot, next I was transferred into a single isolation room on the contagious deceases ward and kept under close observation. From here Gastro Intestinal tests and treatment was administered with no success. As the blood loss was rather large, injections of Iron was given. During this period my physical strength was diminishing and also my weight. Days turned into weeks and there was no progress to speak of , Doctors was starting to talk about operation and told me to think about it. One day.. I did not wake up, the body had started to shut down, I was on my way out of here. The body was getting ready to die. After finally being brought back to conscience I was informed that I would have an operation that same afternoon, simple as that. The physical state of my body was rather weak so there was no time to waste. I was put under for the operation about 16:30 hrs and woke up in the recovery room about 19:30 so it took a while this thing they did with me. The first thing I noticed was the cool feeling like there was no heat in the room. The nurse packed me up with warm blankets and asked me, How do you feel…My reply was simply…this is not a good day to go dancing and fell right back asleep. This operation more than likely saved my life and thanks to that, you can now read about it. After my operation, the recovery came rather quick for a while.Lots of new stuff to get used to. Bear in mind I now had a severed Large Intestine and a Small Intestine coming out on the side of my belly. This is were they put the Plastic Bag (Ileastomy). The first few days was rather difficult as I had to learn how to handle the bag and keep it clean and also the changing of it. I spent a few days more at the Hospital under Nursing Care and learned a lot from those Beautiful People that we call Nurses. I got released from the Hospital after a good seven weeks in there and spent another couple of months at home gaining more strength before returning to work. I will write more about this part of my disease at a later point and also go into the next Stage of it. I hope this will be of help to somebody that are going through a similar situation. Part 2 to come….. If I can be of any help to anybody then feel free to post a comment. PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM NOT A DOCTOR, I JUST HAVE THE DISEASE!
